While sitting in Adoption Room #2 on the second floor of the Toronto Animal Services South building, animal-care control officer Nicola Ware described how 31 cats became City of Toronto property after being taken in under what's called "protective care" when they were found living under one roof in a cluttered Parkdale apartment. The recently rescued cats were cared for and processed in the centre, while vets, volunteers and adopters interacted with the felines.
